实地体验美国生活，深入认识美国文化
-----我校2013年美国科罗拉多州夏令英语营及美东观光游

为深入了解美国文化，零距离体验美国人的日常生活，我校25名同学在2位带队老师的带领下，于2013年7月10日至24日参加了由美国科罗拉多州亚裔文化及教育交流中心 Colorado Asian Culture and Education Network主办的2013年美国科罗拉多州夏令英语营及美东观光游活动。

此次活动共14天。在这为期14天的营期中，主办方组织安排了丰富多彩的活动。他们体贴、细致、周到的安排，使我们师生虽在异国他乡，但也能感受到家庭的温暖。
前六天是在丹佛度过的。丹佛是我们昆明的姊妹城市。这六天，同学们与寄宿家庭同住。期间，住宿家庭提供了舒适的住宿及丰盛的早、晚餐。同学们与住宿家庭共度夜晚，一起看电影、聊天、购物等。在与寄宿家庭一星期的相处中，同学们深切体验到了美式家庭生活，由吃穿作息，到娱乐采买，使学习英語与生活密切结合。

在一周的寄宿家庭期间，同学们白天在训练营集中上课。课程丰富多彩。有分组上课，小组讨论并有作业；有参观科州大学、参观空军军官学校；还有参观美国制币厂、州政府大楼等。

在接下来的几天，同学们搭乘美国西南航空离开丹佛去纽约，游览了纽约的夜景。在纽约，参观了帝国大厦、自由女神、华尔街、联合国总部等。在费城，参观了林肯纪念堂、白宫等。同学们还参观了尼加拉瓜大瀑布。在波士顿，参观了著名的哈佛大学和麻省理工学院。

营会结束时，每位同学都获得了由美国科罗拉多州亚裔文化及教育交流中心颁发的游学证书。此次美国之行，给同学们留下了难忘、美好的印象。

丹佛---我的第二故乡

初到美国的那个夜晚，心情激动又忐忑的我们见到了我们寄宿家庭的奶奶Bobbie和她的女儿Hana （后来我们才见到了Reacher），这三个人，给我留下了对美国及美国人的第一印象。他们开朗，关怀又不失做事的严肃认真。
Bobbie自己开着一个公司，她虽然六十多岁，可开朗与活力仍是她的代名词。印象最深的时候第一天她接我回家（Cherry Creek，Garfield），她居然开着一辆跑车一路飞一般的带我们飚回了家，她的激情和青春劲深深地打动了我。她每天早晨帮我们准备各式各样的早餐——火鸡肉片，鲜牛奶，橙汁，烤面包片，小饼干，车厘子）；当我们的衣服脏了。她知道后也帮我们拿去洗和叠；我们习惯了她每天的“good morning”和“good night”，要离开，发自内心的舍不得；听我说我喜欢吃pizza，有一天等我们回家后就带我们去了一家有名的美国比萨店，很感动。忘不了那天我们一起学做美国菜的开心时光，忘不了离别那天午夜接近凌晨，她早就为我们准备的早餐便当，后来我们打开才发现里面有她对我们的留言祝福和小礼物。Bobbie说过，两年后我回美国，一定要回这个Denver的家看看。
Hana是被Bobbie从小就领养了的中国南京的小姑娘，她二十岁了，Reacher是她的男朋友。他让我们看到了美国年轻人的激情和青春活力。好玩的是Hana 一点中文都不会，可Reacher却会一些中文。他们把笑容随时都挂在脸上，Hana像一个大姐姐，当得知我注册了Facebook 后她耐心的教我如何使用。她带我们去看了《怪物大学》这部美国动画，给我留下了深刻的印象。Reacher是个高个儿金发碧眼的 Native American Guy, 非常好玩的家伙，他和我们相处的非常默契，每当我有想表达却说不出来的英语的时候，他总能猜对我的意思并帮助我表达出来。而且，他让我永远的记住了一个单词——scissors, 哈哈，对亏了他闹了这个笑话。回国后，我在Facebook上和他们建立了联系方式，我喜欢他们，美国的年轻人。
Vail 是我丹佛记忆中重要的一部分，本不是我的leader的她却成了和我玩得最好的一个leader。太多的共同爱好让我们从物理聊到钢琴，从汉语桥聊到了沙特阿拉伯，从掘金聊到了扬基，能在美国找到一个与我爱好如此相近的朋友真的很开心。回国后，我们通过电话。Friendship without border！
我爱丹佛，爱这里的一花一草，爱这里的蓝天暖日，爱Bobbie, Hana, Reacher和Vail. 丹佛， 他没有NY 的繁华，没有LA 的霸气，没有Boston的年轻，可她温暖了我的心，感动了我的心。我爱丹佛，两年后，我一定会回来，我美国的亲人们！

My trip to America

This summer，I went to America for 14days. During this trip, I practiced my spoken English, learned some customs in America and picked up many valuable things.
First, this is the first time that I travel to a place without the company of my parents. I had to get up early and tried my best to do some things on time. Then I had to remember lock the door every night. During the trip, I became more sensible.
Second, we had some chances to buy some things in this trip. I remembered to buy some gifts for my parents and my friends. And I know what my father like and what my mother want. Instead of buying things for myself, I always thought of buying things for others when I was shopping because I realized that we should care about others.
Third, the food in America was really expensive. And the water was expensive, too. Before I went to America, I always waste food, but after this trip, I will try my best not to do that again because I realized that it is difficult to make a living.
I learned any things from this trip. Although the weather there often makes me feel uncomfortable and sometimes the food is not very good, I really love this trip.

Denver

Denver was our first stop. Before this trip, I even didn`t know this city. But to my surprise, Denver was really beautiful. There were many spacious land and small buildings in Denver. Although they had different shapes and colors, they are really harmonious. And the traffic in Denver was good. We would never caught in a traffic jam.
In Denver, we needed to stay with our host family. To be honest, I was a little nervous before I saw my host family. I was afraid to meet them at first. But I was lucky. They were very outgoing and friendly. I thought I could get along well with them on the first day. And I did it later.
In Denver, we visit many famous places, such as Colorado capital, the garden of god and the US Air Force Academy. We even went to the Elitch Gardens---a big theme park. They are interesting and very educational. We also have some classes in Denver. In our classes, I learned something about America. For example, I learned something different between American college and university. I know that American college needed to study some subject for two year, such as math, history, science and so on. And in the last two years, students could choose what they were interested in to major in. it was very useful for some students who wanted to study abroad.
Before we leave Denver, my host family asked which city in America I like the most. I didn`t answer her at that time. But now I know I love Denver!
