It is easy for everyone to have a big dream. Meanwhile, it is also easy to shirk it down by our own hand.

This time, I went to Xi’an with my classmates to attend the English speech competition. Although I did not take part in this competition, I realized some things that touched my heart deeply.

This trip was exhausting but exciting. The first thing that I still remember clearly in my mind is to enjoy the process of the English speech competition. Every competitor was confident of their speech, everyone believed in themselves. No one was afraid of the stage where lots of audiences stared at them. On the contrary, I was more nervous than the competitors. From my points of view, comparing the competition with the death, I would rather choose the latter. For me, the biggest challenge is to take part in a competition. Nonetheless, after attending this speech, I recognized maybe it is not so horrible to join a competition. Not only was I an audience, but also a participator. When the competition was finished, I was glad to enjoy it again.

In addition, the second thing deep in my mind is that we had a good time on this trip. The weather was so bad in Xi’an. It was raining and blowing hard. We bought four umbrellas, but it was all broken by the heavy wind and rain in the end. Finally, we just could run to the hotel without umbrellas on a rainy day. This experience was terrible and as well funny. It was the first time that I got so wet in another city.

“Trouble is friend”

It is so hard for a people to travel in a strange place, because you are new at all the things of the place, nobody will help and tell you what you should do. Fortunately, I have friends who are always there with me. We faced the difficulties together; we shared the happiness together; we encouraged each other. No matter who take part in this English speech competition, we do not care whether you can get the No.1or not. In my opinion, the most important thing in this time is not the English speech competition, but the process of it.

The enjoyment is one of the permanent and certain characteristics of a vigorous mind.

Last weekend, Coco, Tina, Sandra, Elaine and I went to Xi’an to take part in an English speech competition. That day, Coco was the NO. 34 to give her speech. Before she did that, I found there were many students who had very good English. For example, I found three students who came from Xi’an, all of w can remember their speech skillful. When they made the speech, they were very confident, you could not find any brows about nervous on their faces. Their speeches were so powerful that they could guide you to follow their mood and ideas. I know Coco is a very good student in our class, but I find there are many opponents who have a very big ability to face everything, and most of them are better than Coco.

However strong you are, there’s always someone stronger. The competition makes me find out that I am just a beginner, I have a lot of things to do with my study. When I think about my future, I find that I will have a competition with these opponents to select universities, which makes me feel not good.

When the competition ended, I made a decision in my heart. I have to try my best to make myself become better, and enable myself to have more qualification to have a competition with them.

Last week, I was very proud to go to Xian to join a speech competition and be the deputy of Kunming No.8 middle school PGA classes. It was really a great chance to test my spoken English.

I really enjoined the competition. I felt nervous but happy. All the best speakers were from many other cities' PGA classes, their English was so great. Before the competition was started, I was so nervous and did not know what I should do. But after it began, I felt not so nervous. I got to be excited, I hope I could go to the stage and give the speech early. Because I really wanted to show myself to everyone there, even my English is not as good as some of the students’ there. I found that my English was not good enough to get a better place in this competition, but I think next time I will do better. Also I want to tell everyone that although I did not get the No.1, No.2 or No.3 this time, I tried my best to do it, I think I did a good job!

I am so happy that I could join the competition in Xian this time. I was not only learned the new things, but also got some new friends there. Of course, I should say thank to my teachers, they helped me a lot with my paper before I went to Xian. And my friends, I am grateful to you guys. You gave me power when I went to the speech. And Julie and Tina helped to memorize the paper for a long time.

This month I went to Xi’an with my classmates in order to take part in the 21th Teenager English Speech Competition. Actually, I didn’t participate in this competition. But I attended it and learned a lot of valuable things from it. I have a feeling of release up to now.

First, I’d like to talk about what I saw and I heard in this competition. I saw confidence；I saw creativity；I saw intelligence；I saw talent. I heard the most beautiful voice; I heard the best pronunciation; I heard the coolest rapper; I heard the small burst of applause; I heard the excellent article. I will never forget what I saw and I heard, they are already deep in my mind.

Second, I’d like to share you what I learned. There is a famous sentence from the competitor of this English speech competition: “Without direction, there is no life.’’ It means everyone should have a direction, have a goal and have a dream. Only when you have these kinds of things will you lead a better life. The topic of the competition is that Dreams in My Heart, every competitor talked about their dreams. Somebody wants to become a NBA star, somebody wants to become a good rapper and somebody wants to conserve the environment. After listening to their speeches, I can see that they are working and studying for their dreams every day. I already have dreams in my heart, but I think I have done nothing for it up to now. I got encouragement, I decided to work hard and study hard for my dreams, I must do what I should do. I will do better than now.

From this time, I knew how big gap between I and others, I knew how poor I am. I can’t just compare with my classmates in a small circle, such as a class. I should compare with more people and then I will know what my shortcoming is. I still remember a significant word from one of a competitor, she said: “Responsibility is the most important thing.” This word told me that I should take responsibility for myself, my family, my friends, my teachers and people who love me. I can’t let them down. I do not want the word “disappointment” to appear in my life.

I should not waste my time anymore; I should do what I really should do now. I should be assiduous; I should compel myself to study hard. There is no excuse for laziness! I should study for my future. “A good plan of today is better than a perfect plan of tomorrow.’’ Robert Deniro said.
